Elders

The Elders at Holly Hills Bible Church are

Mike Doyle

Mike Doyle – Raised in Rockford, Illinois, educated by the Jesuits at Campion boarding High School (Prairie du Chien, Wis) and Regis University in Denver. Saved by His grace in 1977 at age 35 in Denver. Attended several churches and ministered in a store front mission in Denver for 2 years. Met Miles Stanford in 1980 and began attending his Bible class weekly. Began attending Holly Hills Bible Church at the same time upon the recommendation of Miles. Became the teacher of Miles’ Tuesday study in 1981 which continues to the present day. Through self study in the Word and the mentoring of Miles Stanford, has taught Bible studies over the years in his home, Holly Hills, and other groups. Maintains the distribution of Miles Stanford’s writings and books via the web and personal correspondence. Married Donna McBride in 1979 in Denver and have one son John, and one daughter Regan. Teaching focus is on beholding the glory of the Lord Jesus Christ through the study of His Word and the power of the Holy Spirit.

Roger Henderson

Roger Henderson – Raised in Miami, Florida, and educated as an Electrical Engineer at the University of Florida and the University of Colorado at Denver. He accepted Christ as his Savior while working at a U.S. Base in North Yorkshire, England, after learning about his need for a Savior while attending a home Bible study and listening to tapes of messages from God’s word. He met his wife, Vonnie, at a church young adult group in Denver and they have three children Mark, Carrie and Ryan. He met Hal Molloy while working at Hughes Aircraft (now Raytheon) in Aurora, CO, and continued Hal’s Bible study (upon Hal’s retirement), at Buckley Air Force Base. Learning about our identification with Christ in His death, burial and resurrection was an important turning point in his study of Scripture. Roger’s desire is that others might grow in the grace and knowledge of Christ.

Vern Peterman

Vern Peterman – Raised in his earlier years at Peninsula Bible Church in Palo Alto, California, Vern became a believer at 4 ½ years. Vern grew up partly in the suburbs and partly on a small family farm. In 1970 he met Nancy Martin at a Bible study, and they were married in 1973 (after they got over not liking each other). Vern and Nancy have always been involved in (and often Vern led) home Bible studies with adults and/or youth groups. Interspersed between a few attempts to go to the mission field in Latin America, Vern has been mostly a civil engineer, but also a mechanical engineer, marketing manager, financial manager, construction worker, and high school teacher. Vern and Nancy have three grown children. After four years of part time and full time work on a program at Tyndale Seminary (D.Min.), Vern has been an under shepherd at Holly Hills Bible Church since August 2001.

Hal Molloy

Hal Molloy – Born, raised, and educated (electrical engineering) in New York City, Hal headed west to Los Angeles (Hughes Aircraft Company) and worked on the aerospace program to soft-land the first spacecraft on the moon. Hal heard the gospel for the first time from a Senior Staff Engineer and saw the life of Christ being lived through this engineer. Hal began questioning issues like whether the Bible truly was the word of God and whether science agreed with the Bible. Several years later Hal put his faith in the person and work of the Lord Jesus Christ, and began teaching Sunday School in Los Angeles. Transferring to Denver in 1970, he continued teaching at Holly Hills Bible Church, and also ran some work-based Bible studies at Buckley Air force Base. Through continued self-study in the Bible and its original languages (Hebrew and Greek) – Hal retired from Aerospace Engineering in 1990, and then served as Pastor of Holly Hills Bible Church from 1992-2000. He married Lindy in 1962 and as of July 2002, they have four children and four grandchildren. Hal’s desire was that of the Lord’s: to be conformed to the image of Christ and to minister to those of like desire.
Note: On November 16, 2006, Hal walked through Heaven’s Gates and is now Face to face with his (and our!) precious Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
