Gene Fuqua
Raised in Jacksonville, Florida, and educated in the field of music education at Carson Newman College in Tennessee. After college he attended the U.S. Naval School of Music and served in Navy Unit bands for four years. Gene came to belief in the Lord Jesus Christ when he was about 11 years old through his mother's witness to him of the word of God. He came to Colorado and worked for 13 years in food service at the Navigator Conference Center in Colorado Springs. During the time he was at the Navigators in the 60's he came in contact with Miles and Cornelia Stanford. It was then that he began to learn of the identification truths and began to rejoice in what it means to be "in Christ". Gene has taught music in both private and public grade schools as well as in two Bible schools. When he was teaching music at the Florida Bible Institute he married Sandi Virga. Gene and Sandi ministered the word through the American Missionary Fellowship in California. They had four children and were married for 25 years before Sandi passed away from ovarian cancer in 1997. After Sandi passed away Gene was an elder at Mesa Hills Bible Church in Colorado Springs where he did visitation, evangelism and Bible teaching. The Lord brought Gene and Beverly Clark together in marriage in 1998. Beverly has three grown children and together with Gene they have 13 grandchildren. Gene and Beverly began attending Holly Hills in January of 2005. Gene's Bible teaching gives emphasis to the Christian's identification in Christ's death, burial and resurrection. His desire is to see Christ magnified in the life of Christians.
